BENCHMARK RENDER TESTS: Last results & comments update 19 June 2007 1. Save file to desktop (right click & save as) 2. Unzip and save to desktop, open the file (have no other programs running at the same time) 3. Check the libraries have loaded - it only needs the standard archicad libraries: Object Library 9, (Blmg) Background Images 9, (Tlmg) Textures 9 Note: despite my best efforts, 6 textures / colours are always missing - just ignore this!) 4. Using Navigator - select view set entitled 'Benchmark views', there should be 3 saved 3D views 5. Double click on 'Internal render' & view the result in 3D, then initial a full 3D rendering (F10) 6. Once the render is completed, select window/open report & record the total time taken. 7. Repeat for remaining two views (each view has 3D text to show you it has updated correctly) 8. Record your times for each 3D render plus your computer system details (see others below) 9. Email results to ap@aaarchitect.com for inclusion on the website Note: Instructions may vary depending upon your set-up for Archicad Version 10. New results added below. |

BENCHMARK RENDER TESTS: Observations & Comments Archicad versions 9 + 10: Amounts of RAM: 64 bit windows: Multiple processor machines: Intel Mac's: Video cards: On the 4 machines I have in my office two have the antialiasing setting on a 3 point slider bar, the other 2 have it on a 4 point slider bar. On the 3 point bar below only the ‘Best' position allows LW to render with multiple cores. On the 4 point bar – don't use the ‘Best' setting as it will take interminably long and is not multicore friendly (only the 3 rd setting is). |
